Having played a string of fantastic roles in some noteworthy shows on television, Dalljiet Kaur has charmed the audience not just with her stunning beauty and personality but also with the way she portrays every role with conviction.

The actress will soon be seen donning a fresh new avatar for &TV’s fantasy fiction Vikram Betaal Ki Rahasya Gaatha. With new tales that depict mythological characters and many other unknown stories, the show has made its place in the hearts of the audience for taking them back in time. Dalljiet will be seen portraying the role of Anusuya, which is a part of the tale narrated by Betaal to King Vikramaditya.  A rishimuni’s daughter Anusuya is married to Atri who goes away in search of enlightenment asking her to wait for him. Anusuya waits for years and years for him to return, but she doesn’t give up on him. Her patience and virtuous nature as wife is so intense that the Gods who come to test her disguised as monks in her ashram are marvelled at her. The highlight of Kaur’s character will certainly be her serene yet mesmerising look that will remind you of the yesteryear heroine Mandakini. Mandakini’s waterfall sequence in Ram Teri Ganga Maili spawned many inspirations of its own. The iconic look that became a glorious moment in Bollywood history saw a slew of actresses try it out themselves.

Talking about her stint on the show Dalljiet said “I am so excited to be part of this show as it brings back my childhood memories. The narrative in the new version of Vikram Betaal is different as it has a contemporary outlook. My look as Anusuya is quite enchanting, with a sublime look in a white saree, that resembles Mandakini’s style. Although she dazzled the audience in a more sensuous way, my character Anusuya is the epitome of a ‘Pativrata Stree’ whose fidelity and loyalty to her husband is so unmatched and unbelievable that even the Gods come to test her. This isn’t an attempt at emulating Mandakini, but only the beautiful look that was carried so gracefully is inspired from her. I hope the audience will like and appreciate it”.
