Love stories enjoy a huge fan following in India and Laal Ishq with its supernatural factor is giving them much to be excited about. Adding to this excitement, the makers have decided to rope in actors Sana Sheikh and Ankit Siwach for a gripping episode which is produced by Prateek Sharma’s LSD Films. While the duo was shooting together for just three days, both faced their individual set of challenges. Belonging to Meerut, Ankit was new to the Marathi language. He had to learn the language, accents and phrases from his friends and improvise it to present a smooth Hindi-Marathi dialect during the shoot. For Sana Sheikh, playing a character with a supernatural twist needed a lot of courage.

Ankit started his television journey by auditioning for more than 100 roles. His hard work eventually paid off and he landed a big break with his debut show. Soon after that appearance, he bagged multiple shows pushing him to perform better and deliver on the expectations of the audience. Excited to work on this new project with Sana, Ankit said, “I have watched the Laal Ishq episodes aired till now myself and the episodic nature surely makes it interesting. I have also heard a lot about the show which prompted me to be a part of it. Set in the early 50’s the story presents a Maharashtrian village feel to the viewers. Since I am not a Maharashtrian, this particular episode taught me a lot as it has many Marathi phonetics which I had to understand and learn.”

Sana started her career in television as a child actor in 1995 which gradually fetched her lead roles in multiple television shows. Simultaneously she also explored the radio space as a radio jockey. Starring in TV shows at a very young age, she was widely exposed to the industry which soon led her to debut in Bollywood movies. Having played unique roles in a number of shows and excited to be on Laal Ishq with her new stint, Sana said, “I always wanted to explore the episodic format and Laal Ishq presented me with that opportunity. However, being scared of supernatural things the concept of a love thriller with an emotional side to it, made me take up this project. The story will take viewers back to the pre-independence era and present an authentic feel of a village lifestyle. I have worked with the Director in the past and it has been wonderful working with someone who knows how to innovate and push the actors to explore their limits”.

Tune in to Laal Ishq to watch some mysterious, yet beautiful love stories, every Saturday-Sunday at 10 PM only on &TV.
