Indian classical music legend Pandit Jasraj, recently celebrated his 88th birthday in Mumbai with his family, friends and closed ones from the music industry. While he expected a simple gathering to bring in the new year, there was an extra special surprise planned by his daughter. Over the years, Pandit Jasraj’s voice has garnered a huge global following but did we know there is one show on Indian television that he is a fan of and religiously follows. This musical maestro has &TV’s show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain that tops the list of his favourites. As the legend turned 88, his daughter Durga Jasraj decided to make it extra special and surprise him by inviting the cast of his favourite show to join the celebrations. The team accepted the invitation to be a part of this beautiful evening and make it memorable for the legendary musician.

Producer Binaifer Kohli, actor Rohitash Gaur aka Manmohan Tiwari, Deepesh Bhan aka Malkhan and the writer of the show Manoj Santosh ensured that the audience was in splits.

Talking about the same, Durga Jasraj said, “It was Bapuji- Pandit Jasraj ji’s 88th birthday and in our family everyone knows that he is fond of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. No matter in which part of the world he is, he never misses an episode. He really enjoys the show and that’s how we thought of it as a surprise. On every birthday, the music industry is an integral part of the celebrations; but what added to his excitement this year was the cast of the show being there. He even used the popular catchphrases like ‘Sahi Pakde hai’ with them. He also speaks very highly of the show’s writer Manoj Santhosh and was delighted to speak with him. This was my cousin Rattan Mohan Sharma’s idea and I am glad we all could make it memorable for him.”

Talking about his experience on being a part of the celebration, Rohitash aka Tiwari ji said, “It was an honour for us to receive the invite from the legends of the musical industry. Someone who has brought so much pride to this country and has showcased the roots of this country on global platforms, this is the least we could do. We are glad to have made it special for him, it was a delight to meet him in person. He has a beautiful soul and I wish the best for him now and forever.”
