While the entire nation kept the festive spirit of Diwali alive with lit diyas at home, &TV’s Love Me India celebrated the vibrant spirit of childhood in its recent weekend episode. Inviting the audience to witness a unique and musical ‘Chillar Party’ live, the show set an entertaining filmy atmosphere for its viewers in this Children’s Day special weekend.

Recalling some of the most iconic Bollywood characters, the entire Love Me India family gave a filmy twist to their appearance and personality. While the contestants surely brought out the Shah Rukh and Salman Khan within them, the judges and captains of the show were not too far behind with their filmy ishtyle

With a dafli in hand and retro appearance to his look, Himesh Reshammiya was seen portraying Anil Kapoor’s iconic character, Lakhan. Staying true to his all black style, yet being as filmy as ever was the sporty Guru Randhawa who not just donned the look of Krrish, but also joyfully enacted him.

Joining these judges were the zonal captains whose varied looks brought alive the most popular characters of Bollywood. An armless Abhijeet Sawant with a little grey in his hair was seen essaying the character of Thakur from Sholay, while Bhoomi Trivedi supported him with her colourful attire of Basanti. Using his built and heavy voice to his advantage, Navraj Hans also joined hands with his co-captains as the evil Gabbar Singh of the episode. With a perfect southern accent to her voice the South zone captain Anusha Mani, gave the audience a little southern touch of Bollywood with Deepika Padukone’s famous character, Meenama of Chennai Express.

Adding a generous amount of humour to the entire episode while bearing an extremely close resemblance to Shakti Kapoor’s famous character, ‘crime master Gogo’ was the entertaining host of the show, Meiyang Chang. With a nostalgic tone to the environment and a vibrant colourful mood, Love Me India truly gave its viewers a fun glimpse of Bollywood.

Sharing his experience on shooting for such an episode, West zone captain Abhijeet Sawant said, “It was undoubtedly one of the most fun episodes that we have shot on Love Me India till now. Right from our rehearsals to going live on floor, I wasn’t allowed to use my hands, in the attempt that I would stay true to my character. Although it was a bit difficult, we had a hearty laugh throughout the shoot. Chang, Navraj and Anusha joined the kids in teasing me about this off screen and on screen as well!”

Sharing the same thoughts, East zone captain, Bhoomi Trivedi said, “Basanti is my favourite character from one of my favourite movies of Bollywood. I believe I am as talkative and chirpy like her, hence was quite delighted to don this role. This episode of the show was very different from the regular ones. Not just did we relive the olden days of Bollywood, we also reminisced the time of our own childhood days when we were absolutely in awe of these roles. It was lovely seeing the colourful atmosphere on our set and having a vibrant touch to our usually mundane and tiring weekends.”

On this Children’s Day, Love Me India also gave the nation its 2nd finalist who will be seen competing in the Grand Finale battle. Securing a special place for himself, is the young contestant Priyansh Nigam who hails from the city of Jabalpur. With the top 2 positions tightly secured, the show is all set to see an even more intense battle going live.
