Surprises not just bring smiles to one’s face, but also has the power to give memories for a lifetime. Creating many such memories for the judges, captains and even the contestants has been &TV’s live singing reality show, Love Me India. In the recent Guru-Shishya special week, the audience witnessed some rather special moments when the Gurus of their favourite singers made a surprise visit on the set. While for Himesh and Navraj it was their fathers who supported and guided them through the journey, for Neha Bhasin that special person was the one who helped her polish her biggest gift of music. As they one by one spoke about their beautiful journeys, their love also redefined the guru-shishya bond for many who witnessed this heart-warming moment.
Navraj Hans, who is known for his bold vocals, had tears in his eyes when his father and the legend Hansraj Hans spoke his heart and revealed how strict he has been with Navraj to develop his ‘sur and vocals’. The melodious Neha Bhasin was also left speechless with an overwhelming surprise from her dearest Guru Rochana Dahanukar, who has been teaching her the art of music ever since she was a child. Short of words to express what she felt at the moment, her only request to her Guru was to sing 2 lines of one of her favourite songs, ‘Aaj Jaane ki Zidd na Karo’. Reminiscing about his struggles and remembering his guru, Himesh Reshammiya was also in for a surprise from his father Vipin Reshammiya, who has constantly been a source of support and strength in his life, pushing him forward in every way possible.
Emotional about his father’s presence and sharing his journey as a student, Himesh Reshammiya said, “We have been through many ups and downs in our lives and my father, my guru has always taught me to keep an open mind and look at life with different perspectives. A teacher is someone who takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart, they are our aspiration and inspiration. It is my great fortune to have found the best guru in my father. The values that he has instilled in me has shaped my way of thinking. As they say, the fact is that teachers are like candles, they consume themselves to light the way for others. I have always been fortunate enough to work under the light of his blessings where he has supported me for all of my music and songs that I have created in the industry. To sum up his contributions in one line, ‘naam mera hai, kaam mere daddy ka hai’. It was because of my father that I have been privileged to get an opportunity to work with Salman Khan and his blessings that have always been showered upon me as a shining light. I hope everyone in Love Me India finds a similar shining light and achieves great success in their lives.”
