&TV’s weekend property Laal Ishq is giving passionate love stories a supernatural twist, with the characters of each episode being portrayed by popular TV faces. In just a matter of weeks, the show has moved up the popularity charts!
Having played a string of lover boy roles on both the silver and small screen, well-known actor Ruslaan Mumtaz is now all set to be a part of Laal Ishq, albeit in a never-seen-before avatar. He will play the character of ‘Nirmal’ a small town Banarasi boy, which has apparently drawn inspiration from Rajkummar’s character as Pritam Vidrohi in Bareilly Ki Barfi. Rao was seen as an innocent and naive young lad who is a salesman in a saree shop. This character was one of the highlights in Rao’s career and the audiences loved it. In this episode of Laal Ishq, Ruslaan will be seen having traits similar to that of Pritam Vidrohi. Right from his simplistic attire to well-spoken benarasi accent, Ruslaan will depict a true-blue desi character for the very first time. Ruslaan will be romancing the beautiful actress Rhea Sharma in an upcoming episode. The former will be playing the best salesman in town with a talent of draping sarees. Their unique love story with an undertone of a supernatural element, is guaranteed to be an entertaining watch.
On sharing his experience about the show and his character in it, Ruslaan said “I have never played a desi character like this before – it’s a career first for me. My character Nirmal is very similar to that of Badri and takes inspiration from Rajkumar’s character – Pritam Vidrohi from Bariely Ki Barfi. I really hope to do justice to the role! For the show, I had to learn how to drape sarees which was a fun experience for me – it looks simple, but trust me it isn’t at all.”
He further added, “In real life, I honestly am extremely scared about spooky things, so portraying fear on screen for me was relatively easy.”
Can’t wait to watch Ruslaan’s desi magic entertain the viewers.
