Playing the lead in the National Award-winning Oriya movie (Hello Arsi), has just made actress Prakruti Mishra even more determined to explore her talent further and grow as an artist. Receiving a special mention for the same in the recently announced 65th Nation Film Awards, alongside Pankaj Tripathi (Newton), Parvathy (Take Off), and Yasharaj Karhade (Mhorkya) has been an all time high for the young lady. With all the accolades boosting her morale, the actress is moving forward with &TV’s upcoming show Bitti Businesswali that highlights the journey of a girl who in a bid to be financially independent is determined to start her own business, one not usually associated with women. Prakruti who hails from a creative background with her father being one of the reputed Music Directors in the Oriya film industry and her mother, a news reader, brings with her untapped energy and a gamut of talent.
Bitti and Prakruti are similar in many ways. While Bitti wants to become financially independent, Prakruti has been financially independent since her teenage years. Says Prakruti, “I strongly feel that every woman should become financially independent to prove to herself that she is very much capable of taking care of herself. Its with this change in thinking that women will be able to achieve a status of equality in the society. Bitti Businesswali appealed to me for more than one reasons. Not just will I be essaying the lead; the concept is something radical on television.” When probed further, the young actress added, “I have been a singer, trained in Odissi dance and undergoing martial arts training at Akshay Kumar’s institute. I started my stint in acting as a child actor and there has been no looking back since then. I am not new to the craft, I am just hoping to reach out to a newer set of audience and instigate a change in the way women are perceived on television.”
This feisty young lady will be seen opposite actor Abhishek Bajaj in the show that is soon to go on air on &TV.
