After the grand success of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs last year, India’s most sought after singing-based reality show for young singing prodigies, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs will soon be back with season 7 on Zee TV. Post Shantanu Mukherjee aka Shaan confirming his return as a judge on the show after a four-year hiatus, we have the talented singer, lyricist and composer Amaal Mallik debuting as a judge on the show. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, in its previous seasons, has been instrumental in discovering some of the finest child singing sensations of India’s music fraternity including Anjali Gaikwad, Shreyan Bhattacharya, Hemant Brijwasi, Gagan Gaonkar and Azmat Hussain amongst others.
Amaal Mallik started his music career in 2014, composing for the film Jai Ho and soon went on to give his fans the beautiful song Naina from the movie Khoobsurat. Since then, there has been no turning back for this multi-faceted music icon.
Speaking about his association with the show, Amaal Mallik said, “My connection with Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs dates back to when my brother Armaan began his television journey as a contestant on the show. When he was on the show I would practice his songs with him before he would go up to perform on stage. As a family, we all were a part of that show, mom was on set supporting Armaan while dad and I would watch every episode intently. Recently, I was a part of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa as the guest judge and it was truly a joyful experience. The young kids are extremely talented and gifted and I am glad that I’m getting an opportunity to mentor them. As a composer and judge on the show, I will be focusing more on guiding the talent and giving them a direction to develop their skills and passion for singing. I am looking forward to encouraging the young singing enthusiasts and help them to hone their skills so that they set foot in the industry someday as trained singers.”
