Laal Ishq is a relatively new concept bringing together two most loved genres by Indian audiences. What are your thoughts on it?

Show makers are increasingly experimenting with content and genres, and most are even being appreciated by the audiences. Laal Ishq combines love and supernatural, both which have been witnessed on television separately, but rarely together. The episodic format adds to the intrigue that comes with each story. Moreover, when it’s aptly depicted by some of the best actors we have in the television industry currently, it elevates the whole narration. In my opinion it’s a brilliant concept to drive in times where viewers are lapping up different kind of content and by the response the show is receiving, the effort seems justified.

Can you briefly tell us about the character you’re playing?

I play the character of Vidhya, who is a passionate dancer. However, she has been going through a phase of depression in her life. The story captures Vidya’s battles through this tough phase. The character is well defined and has various layers to it. It’s always great to play a character which is so impactfully weaved into the storyline.

Do you believe in supernatural elements? Have you ever experienced anything supernatural?

Yes, I do believe in supernatural elements. I wouldn’t say that I have personally encountered such things, but I have heard different stories from people who are close to me who have experienced supernatural factors. The entire concept of supernatural elements is very subjective, it totally depends from person to person and the level of belief in it.

Have you ever played a spooky prank on anyone? If not, then one person you would want to play the prank on?

I’ve never played a prank on anyone as yet, I’d burst out laughing before pulling a prank (laughs). But if I ever give it a shot, It would be on Pracheen Chauhan, he is one person I know who gets spooked out quite easily.

One classic love story you would want to give a supernatural twist to? And who would you like to star with in that story?

One of my favourite love stories is Pretty Woman, a supernatural twist to that would definitely be amusing and worth a watch.

Your favourite actor from the millennial lot?

It would be hands down Ranveer Singh for me. That man will be a legend for the future generation!

Apart from acting what are the three things that you’re good at?

I believe I ace time management, if that can be considered. I can sing well and infact, I’m formally trained in it. My husband has often mentioned I’m good at writing too.

Any future projects?

I have my own web channel, so most of my time is spent working on content for it. There’s an episode that goes up every week. I only take up a television show when I come across a really good script.
