Priyanka Chopra, in an interview, once said, “Financial Independence is paramount. My mom always says that when a woman is financially independent, she has the ability to live life on her own terms.” Financial independence for women has been a matter of debate globally and giving a platform to further this discussion is &TV’s new show Bitti BusinessWali. Produced by Rakesh Paswan’s Village Boy Productions, Bitti’s inspiring journey will address a very important question that prevails in our society – why is financial independence important for a girl/woman belonging to a self-sufficient family? Started May 16th, 2018, every Mon-Fri, 7:30 PM, the free-spirited character of Bitti is being essayed by national award-winning actress Prakruti Mishra anda part of her journey will be apopular television actor Abhishek Bajaj who plays a flamboyant yet supportive hero ‘Mahi’ in Bitti’s journey.

Set against the backdrop of the City of Gods, Allahabad, the show reflects Bitti’s struggle to ‘earn’ respect for herself and her family by taking the first step towards becoming financially independent. It traces the journey and highlights the struggle of Bitti, an opinionated young girl who defies certain traditional norms to begin a rather unconventional entrepreneurship journey in a domain typically dominated by men. With a natural flair of finding unique and practical solutions, Bitti comes up with an idea of setting up a paan shop with the motive of being financially strong and independent. Bitti’s attitude and ideologies are much appreciated by Mahi, a young boy whose set of principles and values are in sharp contrast to those of his family’s.

Speaking about playing the role of Bitti, Prakruti Mishra said, “Bitti’s character is extremely special as she is someone who strongly believes in the idea of being financially independent and supporting her family. Personally too, my parents have always wanted me to be standing on my own feet thereby be able to make my own decisions and fulfil my aspirations. In a way, it is as good as playing myself on the show. However, what drove me to take up this project was a question that I once overheard – Housewives work tirelessly through the day managing every need of the family as good as white collared job that her husband does… then why isn’t she monetarily independent like her husband? While it is a heavily debatable topic, not many have reached a positive conclusion but I do hope with Bitti we are able to put a spotlight on this discussion of earning your own self-respect. I have personally been inspired by many women from various walks of life who have their heads held high only because they are respected for being financial independent.”

Speaking about her trip in the city she said “This is my first visit to Lucknow and I’m really excited to explore this beautiful city of Nawabs. I was always fascinated with the sublime cultural richness of this city and the polite mannerism of the people here, or like everyone call it ’LakhnawiTehzeeb’.
I also am looking forward to gorge on some delectable kebabs that Lucknow is famous for, especially the Tundey Kebab! My friends have told me that it is a must try, so I won’t miss that.Hopefully after I complete my work commitments, I will go around for a quick tour around the city.”
Along with Prakruti Mishra and Abhishek Bajaj, Bitti BusinessWali features an ensemble cast including actors Neeraj Sood as Sukhi Mama, NeelimaPandhekar as Mahima Singh and Manmohan Tiwari as Kashi and Pratima Kazmi amongst many others. The stage is set and Bitti’s story is waiting to unfold only to ring in a new wave of change with her radical business idea.

Tune in to be a part of Bitti’s inspiring story every Monday to Friday at 7:30 PM on &TV and cheer for her as she begins her unconventional entrepreneurial journey!
