Somebody has rightly said India is a land of vivid culture and mouth watering delicacies. It is a place where at every 100 kms you find a different cuisine, a different recipe and a different taste. Each Indian house has its own way of cooking their traditional recipes which has been in their family for generations. One so often gets to hear at every nook and corner “This is my grandma’s recipe”.
Every part of the country, every state has its own food specialty. While Punjab is famous for its rich and authentic food with desi ghee flowing in every dish actually symbolizing love, Gujarat on the other side with plain and simple cuisine and earthy flavors and sweetness in every dish symbolizing the sweet and simple people of Gujarat. The Southern part of India has given essence of flavors for the Indian taste buds and today the South Indian cuisine stands proud for its scrumptious taste all over the world.
Needless to say, every part of the country has its own Food History which shows the love of Indians for food and what a delight it is during festivals when Indian food meets a different level. The Indian kitchens are filled with different aroma s during festivals and every festival is marked with a special menu. The food and festival are related to each other like stars and the moon, incomplete without each other. Every festival is associated with a specific dish like Gujiya for Holi; Modak for Ganesh Utsav, Mithais for Diwali and so much more.
India has also marked its position in the world cuisine. It is well- known throughout the world for its rich and flavorsome food. In other words we can say we INDIANS DON’T EAT TO LIVE…. ACTUALLY WE LIVE TO EAT..
