The launch is part of Project Leap – Airtel’s national network transformation initiative. Airtel 4G services is now available in 21 circles across India
Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”), India’s largest telecommunications services provider, today launched its 4G services in Uttar Pradesh starting with Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Agra, Aligarh, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Mathura, Modinagar, Muzzafarnagar and Meerut. And committed to extend its 4G services in 200 plus towns in coming month(s).
With this, customers across these towns can now enjoy high speed mobile broadband on Airtel 4G and get on to the digital superhighway to enjoy uninterrupted HD video streaming, superfast uploading and downloading of movies, music and images. Airtel 4G is available to customers across a range of smart devices including mobile phones, dongles and 4G hotspots.
Special demo zones and kiosks have been installed at all the Own and Franchisee Airtel retail stores in these places respectively. Customers across these cities in Uttar Pradesh can switch their existing 2G/3G SIMs with 4G ready USIMs completely free of cost at any Airtel store/ retailer in the city.
To ensure higher network capacity and superior customer experience, Airtel 4G services in UP have been rolled out using spectrum band of 1800 MHz (FD LTE). Airtel will extend its 4G footprint to other towns across UP in the coming months.
