Lucknow witnessed a mesmerizing celebration of Hindustani Classical music as Kalashree, in collaboration with Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya and Lucknow Bioscope, paid homage to the legendary Padma Bhushan Ustad Amir Khan. The 2-day program unfolded at Kalamandapam, opposite Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, and drew music enthusiasts from all walks of life. Supported by Motilal Oswal Group, the event aimed to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of the iconic vocalist.

The stellar lineup for the program featured renowned artists, each contributing to the rich tapestry of classical music. Vidushi Dr. Ashwini Bhide Deshpande mesmerized the audience with her soulful vocal performance, accompanied by Pt. Partho Sarothy on the Sarod and Pt. Amit Mukerjee on vocal. The tabla accompaniment was expertly handled by Pt. Abhijeet Banerjee, while the harmonium found its place under the skilled fingers of Dr. Vinay Kumar Mishra.

The event, spanning March 2nd and 3rd, 2024, commenced at 6:30 PM each day at the prestigious Kalamandapam. The venue, situated opposite Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, set the perfect ambiance for the soul-stirring melodies that unfolded over the two evenings.

On the second day, the audience was warmly welcomed by Prof. Mandavi Singh, Vice Chancellor of Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya. She shared insights into the life and contributions of Ustad Amir Khan, setting the tone for the musical journey that was about to unfold.

The evening began with a Pushp Arpan, a floral tribute to the maestro, after which the stage was graced by Pt. Amit Mukerjee, Pt. Abhijit Banerjee, and Dr. Vinay Kumar Mishra for a captivating vocal recital.
